Grab A Pie – The Great Australian Takeaway

If you’re looking for a quick bite on the run, make it a wholesome experience.

The Aussie pie – a tasty treat on a busy day or a pat on the back for job well done. Best enjoyed under a tree. Denmark Bakery freshly made pies, pasties and sausage rolls don’t spend long in the warmer, thanks to the dedication of the customers, or as they like to call them, the great Aussie pie connoisseurs! The traditional Australian bakery offers a fabulous alternative to franchised fast food. Hot, tasty and ready to go. The Denmark Bakery believes that’s worth battling for. They compete with cheaper options, not by racing to the bottom but by keeping quality at an old fashioned high.
You’ll notice the pie bases are always golden and consistently stable. There’s always bite in the pastry and plenty of flavour in the filling. To bring you the best possible product, bakers Clete and Tristan, select local ingredients and simple, traditional methods. Every pie looks and tastes fantastic. A good connoisseur should always pause and savour the experience. Consistency is very important to the Denmark Bakery and to their customers. The bakehouse keeps processes simple and replicable, but tweak recipes throughout the year, because raw products change with the seasons, and the aim is to get a prize pie in your hand every time.

The Denmark Bakery partners love food and love eating out.

Overseas, elsewhere in WA or locally, the Denmark Bakery Family Partners enjoy eating out together. They team make a point of analysing food combinations, and finding new ideas for their lunch menu, and in particular for the gourmet pie range.
‘We try to bring our differing tastes and perspectives together to develop popular products and a menu to suit all customers.”

Tristan.

‘We’re always wondering, “How would that go in a pie?” But then we go into development and we don’t release a new gourmet pie until we are absolutely sure it’s ready to please the crowd.”

Clete.

Quality beats price every time!

All the pies are priced individually, based on the cost of production. Costs are kept down through efficiency of process and good relationships with suppliers.

"We make no compromise on the quality of ingredients, even though this is a common way to cut costs. We just don’t do lean!"

Clete

The bakehouse never uses margarine, only good quality, refined vegetable shortening for all their pies.

"Many producers cut back on fat content, but that seriously affects the flavour and the texture of the pastry."

Tristan
